Synergistics is providing support services to Mission Support Alliance, LLC Portfolio Management Division (PFM). MSA is a team led by Lockheed Martin, Jacobs Engineering and WSI. The PFM work scope entails serving the Department of Energy offices for the Hanford site (Richland Operations [RL] and Office of River Protection [ORP]) in support of supervising and managing Hanford site contractors. Staff of PFM are empowered by the DOE offices to acts as DOE’s trusted agent. This entails reviewing contractor performance (including reports and EVMS data), development of project and program related documents, performing alternatives analysis, performing risk management activities, as well as other project management related activities.
Synergistics is currently providing risk management services on behalf of MSA to multiple RL project baseline summaries (PBS). These duties include: development and maintenance of the PBS risk registers, elicitation of new risks, performing quantitative risk analyses in support of budget exercises and alternative analysis, review and oversight of contractor project risk management, risk monitoring, communication of risk related information, and support of program risk management functions.
Synergistics staff have developed project related documents such as risk management plans, monthly risk reports, risk analysis results reports, position papers regarding performance, contractor product acceptability and other project risk documentation. Our risk analysts have assisted in the process of performance refinement and have developed new techniques and processes leading to substantial improvements in the risk management process. In support of the risk management scope, Synergistics is providing information technology functions. These functions include: refining and revising a Microsoft Access based Centralized Risk Register (CRR), refinement of legacy risk management macros for Pertmaster and other risk management related software. Additionally, our staff have created new software to import a contractor’s risk register into RL’s CRR as well as creating a new Oracle SQL CRR. This CRR will provide the security necessary for work on sensitive projects, an automated change log for each PBS, robust performance, and the ability to link Primavera and Pertmaster databases as necessary.
Other work scope performed on this contracts includes project integration services. Examples of this are facilitating alternatives analysis for PBS technical approaches as well as coordinating work and analysis between Integrated Project Team Members, Cost Estimators, Project Schedulers, and other project support staff.
